Teller/Customer Service
Electrical Federal Credit Union -Arvada, CO

Job Title: Teller

General Description: The Teller position is responsible for accurate, prompt, professional and friendly service, in-person and on the phone, while processing all cash and check transactions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the membership in all types of in-person and drive-up cash and check transactions.
  • Ensures that all transactions are accurate by balancing a cash drawer at the end of the working day.
  • Provides prompt and accurate information in-person and over the phone to the membership.
  • Processes all loan payments.
  • Sells money orders to the membership.
  • Completes all required Bank Secrecy Act documentation (CTR, SAR) as needed during the course of any cash transaction.
  • Provides credit union checks to the membership when requested.
  • Processes check orders as needed.
  • Open all new membership accounts as needed.
  • Ensures that all OFAC checks and additional due diligence is completed for all new accounts that are processed.
  • Adhere to all Federal Regulations and credit union policies.

Other Duties:

  • Assists in the Credit Union’s security by monitoring activity in the Credit Union lobby.
  • Provides coverage for other non-exempt positions in the Credit Union as needed
  • Assists in the execution of the Credit Union’s annual membership meeting and other functions as needed.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting Manager or President/CEO.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous teller experience or cash handling experience is highly desired.
  • Computer experience is extremely helpful.
  • Fluent in Spanish is highly desired.

Work Environment:

The Credit Union Teller works in an indoor office and spends the majority of their time seated at the teller line. There may be prolonged periods of standing during transactions. Occasional lifting of 35-40 lbs may be required. Monday - Friday 30-40 hours work schedule. Occasional overtime may be assigned.

Credit Union employees (management exempt) are covered under a (Union) Collective Bargaining agreement with OPEIU Local #30.

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent

Required experience:

  • Cash Handling: 1 year
  • Customer Service: 1 year
  • Banking: 1 year

  • English 
  • Spanish
